Zhang Yixing, better known as Lay Zhang or simply Lay, is a Chinese singer, rapper, songwriter, record producer, dancer, and actor and a member of the South Korean boy group Exo. Zhang began his career as a local child star and starred in various Chinese Film Productions before he joined SM Entertainment in 2008, after passing the company's global casting auditions in China. With 16, he moved to South Korea to start his training and debuted with Exo in 2012.
